How this protects you, and how to contribute
You can publish a story while sealing the names, the location, or your own identity. Sealed parts are shown to you as 'withheld', never exposed.
Your identity as a contributor is stored separately and encrypted, and is shown on no page here — not even to a steward — unless you explicitly grant it.
You stay in control: from any record you can ask a steward to tighten access or take it down (see the 'Manage or withdraw consent' link on each record).
Contributing currently happens with a steward's help so your choices about what to seal are made deliberately. See the proof that we keep these promises at /proof.
